CHI St. Luke’s Health 5K Event

Dear HCID18 Residents,

Our neighbor, CHI St. Luke’s Health – Springwood Village Hospital, will host its inaugural 5K event this Saturday, March 25, 2017.

Please be advised the event will start at around 7:30 a.m. and end around 10 a.m. (with the race starting at 8 a.m. through approx. 9:30 a.m.) Much of the run course will utilizing the district’s beautiful trail system; however, we do expect minor traffic disruptions on East Mossy Oaks Drive, and Springwoods Village Pkwy/ Blue Heron during race hours. Please exercise caution when driving around the community during those hours.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this event.

Consumer Electronics Recycling

In celebration of America Recycles Day, the ExxonMobil Houston Campus and Harris County Improvement District No. 18 will be holding a collection day of electronic equipment, batteries, and more for safe and responsible disposal. Members of the Springwoods Village community and employees are encouraged to bring their old electronics from home.

Acceptable items:
  • Computers, laptops, and accessories
  • Routers, switches, and modems
  • Telephones, cellphones, and video devices
  • Printers, scanners, and ink cartridges
  • CRT TVs and monitors up to 50”, cable boxes, DVD and VHS players
  • Audio equipment
  • Rechargeable batteries (no alkaline batteries)
  • Electronic components and metals

Personal electronic materials will be collected by ExxonMobil’s e-waste disposal partner, CompuCycle,
at the intersection of Holzwarth and Wellness Drive.

On the day of the collection, members of the community who want to drop off electronics should
follow traffic directions and stay in the far left lane to avoid turning into the campus. Electronic materials should preferably be in the trunk, clearly separated from any other belongings so CompuCycle can easily remove the materials while drivers remain in their vehicles.
